Initiatives

Mission Health Project SEARCH internNCCDD seeks innovative solutions to enhance the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. The initiatives enhance access to services and supports, encourage advocacy and promote systems change and capacity building and are in the line with the principles of the The Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act (DD Act).

This is achieved through the distribution of $2 million in federal funds for projects and activities to a wide variety of grantees across the state of North Carolina from the Administration of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AIDD) under the Administration of Community Living. Most funds are given out competitively in response to "Requests for Applications" (RFAs). The Council reviews the implementation plan and publishes the awards at least once a year. Limited funding is available on a non-competitive basis.
