ALP-NC Now Accepting Applications for its 2025 Leadership Cohort!
The Ability Leadership Program - North Carolina (ALP-NC) is an inclusive program that prepares people to engage in disability rights advocacy. And, it is currently accepting applications for the next Cohort!
Read below for more details on the program, the dates, and how to apply. Deadline to apply is March 21, 2025.
Who can be an ALP-NC Leader (participant)?
- Adults with an intellectual and/or developmental disability (IDD)
- Family members or caregivers of persons with lived experience
- In-field professionals supporting people with IDD
How does the cohort work?
The cohort is a weekly program and runs of eight (8) weeks. Individuals in the cohort will learn to:
- develop personal advocacy stories
- practice self and collective advocacy skills
- and network with others who can help solve problems and remove barriers to access
Sessions are held on Zoom from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be breaks provided during each online session. The dates are as follows:
- May 2nd - Kickoff
- June 20th - Graduation
