Notice of Public Parent Forum -- Proposed Policy Changes for Autism Spectrum Disorder

Public Schools of North Carolina's Department of Public Instruction's Exceptional Children Division (ECD) is pleased to provide parents an opportunity to hear clairfication and details on the proposed policy changes regarding practices in the evaluation and indentification of Autism Spectrum Disorder. The public forums will take place in a central location in each of the eight regions of the state. The forums will provide parents the opportunity to ask questions regarding these changes. These forums are in addition to the prviously held public comment period and will be focused on explaining the recommended policy changes. Upon completion of the last public forum, a voice-over PowerPoint will be available on the ECD website. 

Interested parents and stakeholders are invited to attend. The forums will be held June 20 through July 25, 2019 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. Specific dates and locations can be found below.
