The North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities is proud to host and welcome
The ADA Legacy Tour to our great State of North Carolina.
The ADA Legacy Bus is on a cross-country tour commemorating the 25th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Overseen by The ADA Legacy Project, the bus has partnered with many sponsors and organizations around the country to accomplish this extraordinary effort, which covered more than 11,000 miles with stops at city halls, disability organizations, public schools, universities, disability conferences and Abilities Expos, while driving through 18 states.
In collaboration with the Council's partners and the community, we will be preserving, educating and celebrating the landmark legislation for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Three stops between May and June will raise awareness on issues such as employment, education and advocacy. As planning is underway, we encourage everyone to get involved and spread the message to their networks to make this a memorable event.
