Centers for Independent Living (CILs) are consumer-controlled, community-based organizations that provide programs and services for people with disabilities and their families.  The goal of CILs is to promote and support opportunities for people with disabilities to fully participate in an integrated community and search for the possibilities to live as they choose.

NC TASH serves children and adults with severe disabilities and takes a strong lead in the effort to reform attitudes, supports and conditions for people with disabilities. It advocates for inclusive education, integrative education, housing, employment and social justice for adults with these disabilities.

NCADSA serves as the central voice for adult day service providers and the people who use adult day services in North Carolina. It provides innovative programs that support individuals with physical or mental disabilities in a safe environment during the day.

The North Carolina AHEC Program provides educational programs in partnership with academic institutions, health care agencies and other organizations committed to improving the health of the people of North Carolina.
